This Privacy Policy explains how Swelz, LLC (“Swelz,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Swelz website and services (the “Platform”).
1. Information we collect
- Account information: your name and email address, provided directly or via Google sign-in or our email magic-link (we do not receive your Google password).
- Listing & booking information: dock details, photos, locations, dates, messages, and reviews you submit.
- Payment information: processed by our payment provider, Stripe. Swelz does not collect or store full payment-card numbers. Hosts receiving payouts provide information directly to Stripe under Stripe’s terms.
- Location data: approximate or entered locations used to place docks on maps and power search.
- Usage & device data: log data, cookies, and similar technologies used to keep you signed in and operate the Platform.
2. How we use information
- To operate the Platform — create accounts, display listings, process bookings and payments, and enable Host–Guest communication;
- To send transactional messages (sign-in links, booking requests, confirmations, and decisions);
- To provide support, maintain safety and security, prevent fraud, and enforce our Terms; and
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. How we share information
- Between users as needed for a booking — e.g., sharing relevant details between a Host and Guest to complete a rental.
- Service providers that help us run the Platform, including Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), Cloudinary (image hosting), Mapbox (maps), and our hosting provider. They may process data only to provide their services.
- Legal and safety — when required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Swelz or others.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, financing, or sale of assets.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Cookies & sessions
We use cookies and similar technologies, including a session cookie to keep you signed in. You can control cookies through your browser, but some features may not work without them.
5. Data retention & security
We retain information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Platform, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no system is completely secure.
6. Your choices & rights
You may access or update your account information, and you may request deletion of your account by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights regarding your personal information; contact us to exercise them. You can unsubscribe from non-essential emails, but we may still send transactional messages related to your bookings.
7. Children
The Platform is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Third-party services
Your use of Stripe, Google sign-in, and other third-party services is governed by their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them. Swelz is not responsible for the practices of third parties.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post changes here with an updated date, and material changes may be communicated to you.
